Passing Through Juliaca

Juliaca was the only stop for the train, and people were told to not get off. The place is quite rough around the edges. We just passed through.

Yup, I thought so too, but it actually said, BIRF, whatever that means. It's a dusty little sprawling industrial town. I heard that a lot of goods change hands here and vanish into the highlands. No one goes looking for missing stuff here, unless you're buying. You get the idea.

The Germans made it here as well. Probably missionaries.

Now you know about as much as I do about Juliaca. You can see that it has a church, probably more than one, and sharp-eyed little kids who can see a photographer anywhere. And now it's off to the final stop on the way to Puno - Pukara.
